Photo with Tien Sing Cheong and his wife, Magdelene. SC was the Executive Chairman of CEI, an SGX-listed contract manufacturer known for its generous dividends, paying out 90% of its profits. It was acquired by semiconductor firm AEM for S$99.7 million in 2021.

I first met SC in 2001, shortly after CEI’s listing, as one of the first analysts to cover the company. Fifteen years later, when I launched my maiden fund, he became one of my first investors – a full-circle moment.
