Christopher Cheng is a seasoned credit and lending expert with over two decades of experience across global financial markets. He currently leads two private credit funds at Azure Capital, specialising in invoice factoring and payroll financing—helping businesses grow with venture debt by monetising time and human capital. His approach combines traditional credit principles with innovative funding models tailored to the real-world needs of SMEs.

He started his career in the debt capital markets , spending 15 years in sales, distribution and trading of corporate bonds, high-yield and distressed debt across Asia, Latin America, and Europe. This spanned the Asian financial crisis, dot com bubble and Global Financial Crisis.

He spent several years in commodity trading—both physical and derivatives—further broadened his view on risk, pricing, and market behaviour, laying a strong foundation for his current focus on agriculture financing.

Adding another layer to his diverse background, Christopher also trained in cybersecurity, bringing a modern risk lens to the evolving intersection of finance and tech.
